Artists Junque Sale

THIS SATURDAY, May 30

9 AM to 2 PM
Salida Scout Hut
210 E. Sackett Street (east end of Riverside Park)
Salida, Colorado

The "yard sale" concept will reach new heights this Saturday when Salida ArtWorks sponsors an Artists' Junque Sale--open to the public for the first time.

Artists from throughout the area will be offering a variety of unique wares at bargain prices. Emphasis is on good, leftover art and craft supplies--paints, canvas, frames, brushes, easels, sculpting tools, crafting materials, machinery, electronics, books, furnishings, etc.

Also expected to be for sale will be antiques, artistic housewares, collectibles, "used" and "clearance" art, musical instruments, photography gear, drama costumes and props...and lots of what organizers call "classy creative junque".

The event is being staged by Salida ArtWorks, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the arts, and artists throughout the area. For more information, call Susan at (719) 539-7120.

Nest- Leave Water Bottle Sculpture

A request for 'materials' from Jimmy Descant:

'Hey folks, I NEED plenty water bottles,
with caps, to create a piece of art for the first Farmer's Mkt. in June. I was going to do the building of this piece at the market but may take too long.
Someone gave me a name that is the working title, "Nest- Leave". It will be a hornets nest made out of bottles, I hope about 8' tall, and 6' wide.
I know most of you are boycotting buying small water bottles, but if you have some in the recycling or find them anywhere, please drop them off in the driveway at my house, 221 Palmer, anytime. And please pass it on. If I have more than I need, I'll make my walls of my display tent with them. Also any lengths of wire would be appreciated. Any of that left over will be donated to Merry Cox for her work.
Thanks, and much love from Jimmy & Penelope, on the art road tour, be back next week.'
